A Cricket Commentator & Sports Broadcaster for over 25 years, Raman has been a part of broadcasts for leading sports networks like STAR SPORTS, SONY, TEN SPORTS, ESPN , SPORTS 18 & Doordarshan- and featured in Radio broadcasts on AIR & Times FM (now Radio Mirchi)
From anchoring DD’s flagship Live cricket match analysis program- FOURTH UMPIRE – for all international cricket played by India, to being a cricket commentator for IPL coverage- on SONY, HOTSTAR & STAR SPORTS, Raman has been reaching out to cricket faithfuls, with equal proficiency in English & Hindi for over 25 years.
A Cricket commentator for CLT20 coverage on ESPNStar, Raman has done ICC World Cup audio commentary for Starsports.com, and covered multiple seasons of the Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket tournament, in UAE. He is on BCCI’s panel of commentators for Ranji Trophy Matches, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Merchant Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy. What’s more, he also commentates on Women’s Cricket tournaments organised by BCCI.
As India moves towards professional leagues in various sports- like Football (ISL), Hockey (HIL), Wrestling (PWL), Snooker & Pool (CUE SLAM), ATP Tennis Tournaments – he has been the voice or face presenting this on TV Networks like STAR Sports or SONY-TEN.
Only a handful of professionals worldwide can boast of the fact that they have been the face or voice of the broadcast of 6 Olympic Games coverages on TV and he is one of them.
Raman started his journey with covering the Sydney Olympics in 2000, and then covered the Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Games! In addition, he has also covered 6 Asian Games, 6 Commonwealth Games and multiple Continental Championship broadcasts.
Besides this, he is part of the select few Indian commentators who have done NBA commentary in Hindi on TV. Infact, he was one of only 3 commentators who did Hindi commentary of the NBA India Games that were held for the first time in India in October 2019.
As a broadcaster, Raman is passionate about sports, adept at hosting live shows, interacting with people and most importantly, has the ability to weave a story around the event that makes for an interesting broadcast.
He owns a content production company – Elan Communications. Elan produces Original Sports Content for multiple platforms and makes Corporate AV’s & Training Films.
Elan specializes in digital content creation and Audio and Video streaming of live sports events.
